The End's Beginning
Nicole has lost everything—her family, her identity, and her world. Her only reason for living is for revenge against the “abominations” or Abomos—a race of genetically enhanced soldiers.
Each day is just another day to die until she meetsSeth.
When she meets her new partner Seth, she hopes her attraction is nothing more than a need for sex. Joined with him in a dangerous mission to find a master hard drive with the key to ending the war against the Abomos, she discovers that they both need…each other.
Seth’s a man with secrets, which he’s struggling to keep from Nicole. She's fearless and strong, a match for him in all things. He's risking everything to help humanity, but there’s one more risk he has to take—revealing the truth to Nicole. Together can they stay alive long enough to find out if this new world has room for them, and their love?

Prologue
There was no going back. Nicole used to spend hours thinking about what she should have done before hell on earth began. She used to be a mother, a wife, a daughter. She used to smile when she woke up in the morning and only worried about kissing her husband goodbye before he left for work and what to give her kids for breakfast.
Now none of that mattered—everything had changed. She had changed. She’d become a weapon, born from fire and chaos, protected by ice. She did her best to live day to da,y and all that mattered was survival. Before, she wasn’t strong enough to save those she cared about, but now even death feared
her name. The Group, what was left of the United States Government, had made her an executioner.
It had been like that since the day humans lost hope.
Nobody was exactly sure how long it had been since it happened. It was funny the things that no longer seemed important. People used to care about their age and the passing of time. Now a new day was just another chance to die.
Nicole couldn’t help but smile while she thought about the things that used to be so important. She used to care about the labels on her clothes and the heels on her feet. She still cared, but for a whole different
reason.
She wore steel-toed combat boots with self-ejecting silver knives in the tips. She went from designer jeans to skin tight, black leather pants, and no longer wore silk shirts but a custom-made leather vest. It had
special pockets for her knives and was lined with silver thread. Silver, the only weapon that worked on the Abomos. It was the only smart thing the old government did. The only weakness the Abomos had.
Everyone thought the end of the world would be caused by dramatic global climate changes, some strange virus, or hell, even zombies. She would have welcomed zombies. At least they were slow and had only one basic thought—to feed.
No, the leaders of the world played God in a different way. They created a whole new species. They were supposed to be the ultimate weapon, a way for the world to fight its wars without losing any more good men or women. They never told the citizens of their abominations and secret tests.
Only a small group of world leaders opposed what they called the Faction. The opposing group broke off and prepared for the worst case scenario. Who knew what state the rest of humanity would be in if they hadn’t acted? There would probably be nobody left. Well, no full humans anyway.
Nicole owed the Group. They were the ones that found her. They taught her to fight, to avenge those she had lost and couldn’t protect. They saved her life and now she fought to hold onto what was left of her humanity.
